About us
When it comes to the specialty teams of the Chapmanville Fire Department, you've got some impressive ones. Let's start with the Swift Water team. This team specializes in handling emergencies involving water, such as floods or water rescues. They have the skills and equipment necessary to navigate swift currents and save lives in challenging water-related situations.
Next up is the Rope Rescue team. These experts are trained in performing rescues in vertical or high-angle environments. They use specialized techniques and equipment to safely reach and extract individuals who may be stuck or injured in difficult-to-reach locations, such as cliffs or tall buildings. Their expertise is crucial in situations where traditional rescue methods may not be effective.
Lastly, there's the Hazmat team. This team is responsible for handling hazardous materials incidents. They have extensive training in identifying, containing, and mitigating the risks associated with hazardous substances. Their expertise ensures the safety of both responders and the community in case of chemical spills, leaks, or other hazardous material emergencies.
It's also worth mentioning that the Chapmanville Fire Department covers the majority of US 119 in Logan County. That's a significant responsibility, considering the length of the stretch. It's a testament to the trust and confidence the community places in your department to keep them safe along this important roadway.
